I am a NICU nurse. I believe from dialogue in room tat baby born from a mother who is ill, possibly from a placental infection. Staff are discussing a fever - baby will have one if mother does. We are purposefully vigorous in drying babies born in OR. The OR is cold, babies loose heat quickly because wet with amniotic fluid. They are less likely to cry well if surgical birth and amniotic fluid that is not quickly moved out of lungs with initial 2-3 breaths can set them up for respiratory distress and a NICU stay. Search neonatal pneumonia, transient tachypnea of newborn and Parturition and the Perinatal Period: Can Mode of delivery Impact on the Future Health of Neonate? Horrible. Ein Kind braucht doch zuerst einfach nur Nähe, Zärtlichkeit und nicht all diese funktionalen Behandlungen. Was für ein Schock! und dann diese kalte Umgebung, das kalte Licht - all das nach dem Verlust des warmen Mutterschosses.

She knows what she's doing. She's done it a million times and she is very efficient and appropriate. Try being a nurse for a day and see how much time you have to lolly gag around. Been doing it for 45 years and I can assure you it is not a leisurely job.

Meine beiden letzten Kinder kamen zu Hause auf die Welt und hatten alle Zeit der Welt auf mir zu liegen und umarmt zu werden ❤ Die notwendigen Messungen wurden später ganz sanft durchgeführt und kein Kind musste so schreien. Sadisten haben nichts im Krankenhaus zu suchen...

1. Wiping the baby is stupid - he's not dirty, the layer he's covered with needs to be absorbed. 2. Arm labels are stupid because father is right there. 3. Using suction to pull out amniotic fluid is not needed and does harm. 4. Lights are way to bright for new eyes. 5. Handling is very brutal. 6. Baby should be placed on mother's chest or at least father's. 7. Measurements at this stage are stupid and can be done later and gently. 8. Wiping eyes is stupid. That is not dirt they're wiping. Those secretions are needed and would get absorbed. 9. You can bet the C-Section was not necessary and doctor just pushed it because it generates more $ for hospital. 10. You can bet what follows is things inserted into baby's anus and stomach - totally not necessary. 11. Don't forget to give him useless vitamin K shot and the Hep B shot in the first hour of life, knowing full well that Hep B can only be transmitted through blood transfusion or sexually.
I totally agree. We treated our newborns with love and gentleness.
